Intel Building Demolition Implosion Video Slideshow, Austin, TX

I decided to rise and shine early this morning at 5:15 AM to get a good spot downtown for the Intel building demolition. I wasn't going to miss this show. Intel started building on this block downtown in 2000 and pulled out of the project in March 2001 after the tech bust. The shell stood for 6 years until the Feds bought it for a new courthouse to be built starting in 2009.

I took this series of photos over the span of an hour (6:36 AM until the dust settled) and thought the slideshow needed a little bit of "Right Where it Belongs" by Nine Inch Nails. Enjoy the show...

Okay, It's Changed!

I went ahead and changed the blog to the new address and name. You probably already know that if you are here. I also started a new series of posts at Spider Monkey Business called The Good News First. Most of the major media outlets lead with the bad news to get ratings. Robberies, murders, car wrecks, fires, and the weekly Hollywood train wrecks all provide them with enough bad news. I've decided to pick a city at random on any given day and scour their news for a good story, which I will then follow up with a bad snippet from the same town. It should be interesting and keep me posting on a regular basis.

New Name!

I've decided to change the name of the blog, for now anyway. I may change it back. The new address is daddy-shack.blogspot.com. I thought Daddyshack was good since Little Mr. and I love golf and maybe Baby Girl will, too.

I'm still here!

I know it's been a while since my last post and most of them lately seem to be taking you to Quirkee to read more, but we have a lot going on these days and most of my writing time has been focused on the column. I promise I''ll get back to posting more regularly and throw up some new photos as well. For now, click the logo to read more...
